Welcome to the Fayette County
Clerk's Office. Our goal is that you will be able to easily find
the information you are seeking on this site.
Fayette County is one of the
three original Kentucky counties, established in 1780; twelve
years before Kentucky became the fifteenth state. Fayette County
is named in honor of the Marquis de Lafayette. The Lexington city
government and Fayette county government merged January 1, 1974 to
form the Lexington Fayette Urban Government.
The current Fayette County
Clerk is Don Blevins. He has been clerk since 1981 and is serving
his seventh term that will expire in January 2011.
