The majority of jobs at the Fayette County Clerk's Office involve
clerical duties and customer service. You should enjoy working
with the public and be detail oriented for our work environment.
The current beginning annual salary for a clerical/customer
service position is $25,776 (position pay range: $25,776 -
$37,896). Our regular work hours are 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday through
Friday. We offer the following benefits: retirement plan; paid
health, dental and life insurance; 12 days vacation (increases
with length of service); paid holidays; paid parking; and a 401(k)
plan.
Requirements for employment:
Must be a resident of Fayette County (or be willing to relocate
within 30 days)
Must be a high school graduate (or have a GED)
Must be able to type a minimum of 45 words per minute (on computer
keyboard)

Applications will be kept on file for six months. When there is a
position open which matches your qualifications, you will be
contacted to schedule an employment test. Our testing consists of
a typing test and a general knowledge test. You must pass both
tests in order to be considered for employment. (Hint: Test
yourself on typing speed before scheduling your test! You can
access free timed typing tests on the web.)
After completion of our tests, you may be asked to come back for
an interview. At that time, you will need to provide several work
references.
Your qualifications, test results and interview will be reviewed
to determine if a job offer will be made.
